In 1958, the Anti-Prostitution Law was enacted and the authorized brothels...the so-called "red-lines" were abolished. Prostitution gradually went underground and became the work of amateurs. Masae Tanaka (Shiori Tsukada), a clerical worker for the company, never thought she would be involved in prostitution.
